The IC-Brazil program is the center of a complex strategy, which invest in high
level education, research in new technologies and incentive for project
development among semiconductor companies, adopted in order to introduce
Brazil as a competitive player. Cadence has been an important partner for the
IC-Brazil program; since the IC Design training program is focused in a Design
Flow which uses Cadence EDA tools, and all the Design Houses subscribed to
the program are provided with access to Cadence design tools. A successful
design story within the program has been the development of Static Power
Converter (SPC) device, designed inside the training center 2 using both analog
and digital design flows to deliver a single mixed signal power regulator. This
device works as a voltage converter, providing a constant output voltage,
independent of the input supply or the load conditions, and it would be useful for
applications in which a reconfigurable power control system is required.
